I don?t know about you, but I can not grow a thing. Everything I try to grow whether it be plants, veggies or fruit will not make it past the one week mark at my house. I either water too much or not enough and in most cases totally forget about my plants.
Growing up in Germany, we always had BIG Beautiful plants all over the house, the garden and the patios and I?ve been dying for year to have a great Fichus tree in my living room or any other house plant. Plants always bring live into your home and oxygen that a fake plant can?t replace. My only problem, how can I keep it alive and make it grow big and beautiful? I remember telling my husband for years now that in Germany we had these super cool self watering planters, I didn?t remember the name or even if they had a name, but I remembered a watering gage and pebbles instead of dirt; Hubby of course thought I lost a marble every time I started to talk about the water pebbles and how cool they where.
Well, I have the last laugh now. When we went home to Germany this summer I found my all so beloved and missing self watering planters. I so wanted to grab a bunch and bring back to the US, but unfortunately my suitcase wasn?t big enough. However, I wrote down the company name and once we got back to Florida I did a little Google research ( you just have to Love Google) and low and behold the same German company is now in the US trying to promote their Self watering planters. I couldn?t believe it and had to get in touch with Lechuza, that?s the name of the company.
I?m beyond excited and now finally can have a green thumb as well; I can finally start a plant collection on my patio as well as in my house. I?m super excited. But let me tell you what makes these Lechuza planters that much different then any other planter you can pick up at your local Home Improvement store.
This is what will arrive in your package, check it out. I bet a lot looks different and trust me it is. This will take care of the entire planting process, all you have to do is provide the plant for the planter. Simple as that, right?
The Maxi Cube is what I received along with a Window planter, but let me show you one at a time because they are so super cool and so different. This is what is inside the box, 2 containers, one for the Plant and the gravel and one planter to collect the water that will be self watering, no more water spills, no more, did I water too much not enough kind of games.. NOPE.. this planter will handle it all for you? on it?s own!!
Take the planter insert and add a little of the gravel, then insert your plant and add the remaining gravel; insert into the outer planter, make sure to insert your watering gage into the planter as well and you are ready to water your perfectly new and green plant; fill the water to the watering line MAX. and set your planter wherever you like in the house? That?s it? you are done.. just every few days or so when you walk by check on the water level gage and if you see it low (at min.) just fill it back up?. everything else is taken care of by the self watering canister.. LOVE IT!! LOVE it!! Did I tell you I love it???
I used one of my planters for a Christmas Tree, I can never keep them alive in Florida, they always dry out too quick, but with the water gage it will tell me exactly when I have to add more water. I?m just loving it ( I have told you that before, right?).
These planters are very affordable, come in many different sizes, style and color; making them a perfect Christmas gift, housewarming gift or just for your own enjoyment. I know, I added a bunch of these to my wish list and hope I will get them. They are just AMAZING!!
I also made my hubby an herb garden in the Window Planter, perfect size and with it being self watering, I think I can finally have fresh herbs without killing them; so far we are on day 10 and they are all still looking perfect; green and smell amazing. I?m doing something right? Thanks to Lechuza. WHOHOOO Check out my pictures below, you know they speak more then a thousand words.
This is what the Window Planter looks like, isn?t is super cool? Every Lechuza self watering planter has a 2 canister concept and a watering gage; What I really love about the window planter, there is a spot to add the water, no more mess, and no more spilling any dirt when you fill up our plants. Unlike the Maxi Cube you will probly have to add some potting soil, or you can purchase extra gravel to fill up your entire planter with the gravel, which is perfect; but I only had the small bag that came with the Planter and added Potting oil with Fertilizer on top of the gravel; I will never have soil on my windows seal because I over water!
Okay, I will shut up and enjoy my beautiful plants now; because thanks to Lechuza and their Self watering System, I have a green thumb now, too. If you want to get more information about the Lechuza Planters be sure to visit them on the Web; I know once you try them, you will never use any other planter. That?s for sure!! Go ahead, add them to your Wish list for Christmas, it?s Ok for Mom?s to get pretty planters.
