The Jansson Family: Holiday Weekend Wrap Up

How was your long, holiday weekend? Ours was super busy. We've got alot to share! Mr. Jansson and I both got off work early on Friday afternoon. We grabbed lunch before coming home, packing up and driving to Whidbey Island for two days of camping with family.

Overall we had a good time. The weather was a little chilly (especially at night) but it was sunny!? I hurt my lower back last week and wasn't too pumped about sleeping on the ground but Mr. Jansson saved the day by ordering a new self inflating air mattress from amazon.? It came in time for our trip and was a lifesaver!?

Speaking of Mr. Jansson, he fixed a wonderful supper on Saturday night - clams cooked in butter and white wine for an appetizer and then for supper he cooked steak, lobster tail and roasted veggies. Delish and all done over the campfire!

Some of y'all might be wondering how Watson fared. He had a ton of fun riding in the car but didn't like having to wear his harness or being one of three dogs at our campsite. You see, he thinks he's top dog and is a big bully (no pun intended) when it comes to other pups. He instigated a few scuffles with our in law's dog and Mr. Jansson's aunt & uncle's dog. He wasn't seriously injured - mostly noise and some superficial scratches.? He's definitely a spoiled only child.

We drove back home on Sunday afternoon and did a ton of laundry and cleaned up the house in preparation for a bbq we're having at our home on Saturday. (I hope the weather clears up!)

Today we took advantage of the memorial day sales and purchased a new couch. Random, I know! This picture is awful - it's from my camera phone and the lighting is funny. Also, ignore the pricing signs you see everywhere - we got a good deal.??

We've been wanting a new couch for quite some time and have been keeping our eyes open for a sectional that meets our specific criteria: washable fabric, chase lounge, comes to the floor (so no balls can be kicked under it), and fits within our oddly shaped living room space. Welp, we found it at the fourth store we checked out today. The new couch should be delivered on Saturday morning. (I know what you're thinking...right before the bbq? Yes. We're asking for trouble. I know that.)
